Details
A 44-year old Madison man was on his way home from church when a woman suddenly appeared in front on his car. He could not stop, and he struck her. The Sunday night collision happened in the 4900 block of Commercial Ave. A responding officer was well acquainted with the 30-year old injured woman. She has been the subject of past citizen complaints, all about the same.

The woman has apparently made a habit of standing in traffic, in order to flag down cars, and try to get a ride somewhere. This time, one motorist never saw her before it was too late. She was taken to a hospital with broken arm, a possible broken leg, and numerous bumps and bruises.

She told an officer she was, in fact, in the roadway trying to stop a car so she could get to where she was staying. She was cited for hitchhiking in the road and for possessing a crack pipe. The driver was not cited.
