MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) -- A Manitowoc woman has pleaded not guilty to driving drunk and killing an elderly couple and their daughter as they stood in a yard watching a roofing project.
Seventy-nine-year-old Lawrence Gerroll, his 75-year-old wife Lou Gerroll and 48-year-old daughter, Joan Gerroll, were killed Oct. 12 after they were struck by a van that had careened off a road in the town of Kossuth. The couple's son, Douglas Gerroll, witnessed the crash while working on a roof.
Forty-four-year-old Becky Holly is facing 10 criminal charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Douglas Gerroll identified Holly as the van's driver during her appearance in Manitowoc County Circuit Court Tuesday.
The Manitowoc Herald Times (http://htrne.ws/IKaBCW ) reports Holly's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.
