Dan Cornell spends his day wiping runny noses and trying to keep up with his kids.
He says, " To be a part of their lives is cool. "
When he's not busy chasing his kids, he's busy running his web based business UNDAWAREness.
Remember those yellow "livestrong" bracelets? Shortly after they came out, other groups and organizations jumped on the bandwagon. Now, you can get many different colors supporting all types of organizations and causes.
But instead of selling bracelets, Cornell sells underwear with a portion of his profits going to breast cancer awareness.
He says, " I could have obviously written a check and just donated to a group. But I thought just the concept and the idea that could be more far reaching and grander than I ever imagined. "
Cornell's website UNDAWAREness.com went live about a year ago.
Since then, he says business has been booming and he hopes to add more colors and causes.
Cornell says, " I wanted to bring attention to causes, issues, things that I didn't even know were out there that affect other people. "
So far, Cornell has donated about $1,000 to breast cancer awareness.
Thanks to word of mouth and social networking sites, he's been able to get his products to just about every corner of the world.
"Air force bases, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Alaska, I mean I have sent them everywhere. "
Cornell calls his idea simple. But hopes that simple idea could end up being very powerful.
In the future Cornell hopes to add a line for guys.
