It may be a cheesy record, but one Fond du Lac business is hoping to help.
Employees at Brenner Tank have been working the last few weeks building a giant fondue pot. It's all part of Fond du Lac's Fondue Festival, which gets under way this weekend.
Organizers are hoping to use the pot to try to break a world record for the largest fondue.
Brenner Tank's Rick Peterson says planning on the tank started last October and construction began last month.
He says they hope to have the tank finished by Tuesday.
It's expected to cost more than $10,000 and be eight feet wide and three feet deep.
It'll be large enough to hold 275 gallons of cheese -- or chocolate. It weighs one ton empty and 4,500 pounds when full.
Engineer Tom Hitchcock says even the utensils are big -- like seven-foot-long dipping forks and an eight-foot-wide lid.
