FIREFIGHTER PORN INVESTIGATION

LOS ANGELES (AP) — It's a little too hot for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Officials are investigating a report that an L-A-F-D fire engine was featured in a porno film. KNBC-TV reports the truck was used as the backdrop for an adult film a porn film shot at Venice Beach. Footage aired on the station shows a topless woman sitting on the fire truck. A department spokeswoman says the L-A-F-D has "zero tolerance" such misbehavior. Fire Chief Brian Cummings is ordering an investigation

SUPER BOWL VOLUNTEERS

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Football season is just a couple of weeks old, but some people are already thinking Super Bowl. Indianapolis will host the big game in February. Local organizers say 13,000 people have volunteered to help, when football fans descend on Indy. More than 2,000 of those volunteers attended a training kick-off the other evening. The Super Bowl volunteers will do everything from greeting fans at the airport, to giving directions on downtown streets. Volunteer Shelley Reeves wants to show some Hoosier pride. Reeves tells WRTV they'll be good hosts to the thousands coming to town.

BUDWEISER SUIT

LUXEMBOURG (AP) — This Bud's for you -- times two. A European Union court is ruling that Anheuser-Busch and the Czech brewer Budvar can both continue using the Budweiser trademark in Britain. British beer drinkers are used to there being two Buds. The Czech company introduced its beer in the U.K. in 1973. The American brew came a year later. The companies have been battling over the Budweiser trademark for years.

BABY NAME POLL

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) — McKenna, Addilyne, Madelyn or Emily? An Illinois couple wants your help in naming their coming daughter. The baby is due in January. Dave and Lindsey Meske of Crystal Lake have created a Facebook poll to help them choose a name. Dave tells a local paper (Arlington Heights Daily Herald) he's leaning toward Madelyn. Lindsey favors McKenna. The couple says if there's a tie, they'll flip a coin. They have one other daughter, 4-year-old Brianna.

PET MAYOR

CORRALES, N.M. (AP) — The fur is flying in one New Mexico election. Dogs, horses, a chicken, a donkey, and a pair of alpacas are in the race for "pet mayor" of Corrales. And in this election buying votes is part of the fun. The pet mayor's race is a fundraiser for the local Kiwanis Foundation chapter. Ballots cost a buck apiece. The human mayor of Corrales, Philip Gasteyer, will announce the winner at this weekend's Harvest Festival.

CIVIL WAR-DEFENDING WASHINGTON

MCLEAN, Va. (AP) — It will be 1861 all over again in Washington tomorrow. The National Park Service is commemorating a key moment in the Civil War. Park rangers will recreate the Union's defense of the nation's capital at Fort Marcy Park in McLean, Virginia. In September 1861, Union troops marched across Chain Bridge near the site to fend off advancing Confederate forces. Fort Marcy is one of 68 forts built around the city during the Civil War. Only a few of those forts survive 150 years later.
