DETROIT AUTO SHOW

DETROIT (AP) -- It's a truck so tiny, it could fit in the bed of a regular pickup. The makers of the Smart car are introducing a teeny-tiny truck at the Detroit auto show. The concept truck is called the For-Us and is electric powered. The show opens to the public Saturday, with 750,000 people expected check out the new rides. Automakers will unveil more than 40 new cars and trucks at the industry trade show.

CHRISTMAS TREES-MULCHFEST

NEW YORK (AP) -- New Yorkers will get to use their Christmas tress for months to come. Of course, they won't still be trees. The city held MulchFest over the weekend, with tree chippers setup in a number of parks. For those who wanted it, they got to take a bag of mulch home. City officials say last year nearly 17,000 trees were processed. They hope this year's MulchFest will top that number.

UNUSUAL NAME BUST

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- It's a name that's hard to forget. Police in Madison, Wisconsin, report they've jailed Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop for violating his bail conditions. His name used to be Jeffrey Drew Wilschke. But he legally changed it to Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop in October. He also faces charges that include carrying a concealed knife and pot possession. The Capital Times reports the bust follows complaints about drinking and drug use in a city park.

WEDDING RING LOST

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Tabitha Smith hopes someone will return her engagement and wedding rings. She lost them at a recycling center in the Charleston, West Virginia, area. Smith tells The Charleston Gazette the rings likely slipped off her finger while handing a friend a tissue. Smith says security video shows a man and woman arriving at the dump in a blue SVU. She says the man picked up a ring and showed it to the woman before driving away.

MISSING SEARCH DOG

BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- The lost search dog is no longer lost. Vito the German Shepherd had gone missing last week during a search-and-rescue exercise in the Washington area. His handler, Sonja Heritage, says Vito was distracted by a fox and ran off. Heritage got a call over the weekend that her dog had been found across the street from the search site. She picked him up early yesterday. Heritage says she and Vito will be back at work today, training as part of the urban search and rescue team in Fairfax County, Virginia.

GHOST HUNTERS

HARRIMAN, Tenn. (AP) -- There's something spooky in the historic Temperance Building in Harriman, Tennessee. At least according to the Ghost Hunters of Southern Tennessee. Group founder Richard Ruland says he and 10 others spent a recent night there. He says they got a photo of an "orangey-white mist" shaped like a man. Ruland tells the Knoxville News Sentinel the picture is proof the building is haunted. Mayor Chris Mason isn't ready to buy the ghost story just yet. But he does support efforts to restore the structure, ghost or no ghost.
