UPDATED Wednesday, October 5, 2011 --- 3:35 p.m.

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin costume company has broken the world record for most video game character costumes in one place.

The previous record was 376 at a gaming convention in London in May 2009.

Buyseasons Inc. gathered 425 people Wednesday afternoon at its suburban Milwaukee headquarters. While they waited for the official word, Angry Birds did the chicken dance and Pac-Man ghosts chased some of the Pac-Men.

Other characters included Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter, God of War and Mortal Kombat.

A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records validated the entry.
