Wednesday Morning Bizarre News Headlines

NUDE MAID SERVICE

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- It's house cleaning -- with a view. Police in Lubbock, Texas, are keeping an eye on the Fantasy Maid Service. For 100 bucks an hour, owner Melissa Borrett provides a naked maid. Fifty bucks more gets two nude maids. Borrett insists there's nothing dirty about her cleaning service. She says no touching is allowed. Authorities note the service doesn't have a permit to operate a sexually oriented business. And they're watching for possible violations. Borrett says business is good. Now, she's looking to add more naked maids to her staff of three.

ICE CREAM-MARIJUANA

LA PLATA, Md. (AP) -- It's a cold case -- but not in the way you might think. Authorities in Maryland charge a man was selling pot out of an ice cream truck. A Charles County sheriff's spokeswoman tells WRC-TV deputies found baggies of marijuana and a stash of cash in Alexander Hoskins' underwear. Authorities say deputies acted on a tip. Hoskins is now charged with possession with intent to distribute.

BARELY DRESSED BREAK-IN

WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- Boxers or briefs? In this case, police say the suspect was wearing his briefs and little else. A nearly naked man was spotted at a Wisconsin fertilizer company early Saturday morning. The Winona Daily News reports officers arriving at Anderson Fertilizer found a bloody, broken window. Inside was a young man wearing just boxer shorts and socks. He ran. But police say they recalled a disturbance at a home hours earlier, where officers found a wallet and clothes. The hunch paid off and officers spotted the suspect. After a brief car chase, the 18-year-old was busted on burglary and alcohol charges.

UNDERWEAR BANDIT

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) -- Police in Bullhead City, Arizona, report nabbing the panty-napper. A 23-year-old woman had reported she was missing 20 bras and 30 pairs of panties from her bedroom. The victim's brother told officers he suspected a teenage boy next door. Police say the neighbor had seen women's underwear in the 16-year-old's room. The Mohave Valley Daily News reports police busted the teen. He now faces charges of residential burglary and possession of stolen property.

OFFICER'S GUM STOLEN

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A sticky-fingered guy picked the wrong pack of gum to lift. Authorities in Springfield, Massachusetts, charge a shoplifter stole an officer's gum. Department officials say Officer Matthew Longo was in a convenience store just after midnight the other night. He was buying a bag of chips and a pack of gum. The clerk whispered in the officer's ear that a man was stuffing items in his pockets. When Longo turned to tell his partner, the suspect lifted the officer's gum, too. The officers arrested Denie Irizarry on shoplifting and drug possession charges. Officer Longo had to buy another pack of gum. The original was tagged as evidence.

TUCSON STOLEN GIRAFFE

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- An Arizona school has its giraffe back. The 14-foot-tall wooden giraffe was the mascot at the International School of Tucson. It was reported missing more than a month ago. A neighbor walking in the area spotted the giraffe in a yard. The Arizona Daily Star reports in the meantime, two more giraffes were donated to the school. School officials say all three giraffes will be mounted on concrete bases.
