MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 49-year-old woman flipped off the wrong person on a Milwaukee County interstate: the sheriff.
Department spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin said she and Sheriff David Clarke were in an unmarked sports utility vehicle with tinted windows at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. They were in a lane that allows drivers to turn left or go straight and the woman was in a left turn lane.
She said the woman thought she could go straight and tried to get around them but couldn't and then sped past them with her hand out her window.
Clarke stopped her and she apologized, saying if she had known it was him she wouldn't have done it.
She received citations for operating with a suspended license and recklessly endangering safety. She was arrested on a warrant for operating with a suspended license.
