Mt. Horeb, WI - Snowboarders and skiers longing to get out on the slopes are getting their wishes granted. Tyrol Basin Ski and Snowboard Area is defying the odds and making snow for their early season, with a Hiking Park opening this weekend. "Our loyal customers are eager to hit the slopes," said Don McKay, general manager. "We always strive to give them their first opportunity of the season, and given just a little help from Mother Nature, we will do so again this year."

November has been an unseasonably warm month, making snowmaking impossible. Current weather forecasts predict several nights of colder temperatures and Tyrol is busy making enough snow for a Hiking Park for their anxious snow lovers.

Tyrol will be open to the public this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 28 and 29, 12:00-5:00 p.m. Beginner terrain and lessons will not be available until regular early season begins. Snowmaking efforts will continue and Tyrol Basin anticipates being open their regular early season schedule of Tuesday and Friday evenings, Saturdays and
Sundays.
