The Rockets are moving toward the official signing of Omer Asik to his long-awaited offer sheet as they waived two players today.
Gone are Jon Leuer and Jerome Jordan.
Leuer was part of the Rockets’ pre-draft trade with Milwaukee when Houston picked up the 12th pick.
Jordan came from the Knicks in the sign-and-trade deal that let Marcus Camby go to New York.
Once those players clear waivers, the Rockets will sign Asik and the Bulls’ three-day window to match will start — probably with less fanfare than the recently completed Jeremy Lin saga.
