MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Sam Dekker scored 40 points, including a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left, to lift Sheboygan Lutheran to a 67-66 victory over Racine Lutheran in the WIAA Division 5 state title game on Saturday in Madison.
Dekker hit three 3-pointers and converted a three-point play in the final minute as Sheboygan Lutheran (25-4) completed a furious rally from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to win a title in its first state tournament appearance.
The 6-foot-8 forward is a University of Wisconsin recruit. He added 13 rebounds and three blocks. He had 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Dekker took an inbounds pass with 13.2 seconds left, dribbled to the right corner and elevated over two defenders for the game-winning shot.
Peter Drummond hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points for Racine Lutheran (26-3).
