MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Caleb Herbert tied the game for Minnesota Duluth early in the third period and Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel made three saves in overtime as the Bulldogs and Badgers skated to a 3-3 tie in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association on Friday.
Herbert got the equalizer at 3:22 of the third period for the Bulldogs (11-3-3, 9-2-2), who extended their nation-best unbeaten streak to 13 games. But their seven-game winning streak ended. They are 8-0-3 in their last 11 road games.
Rumpel had 33 saves for Wisconsin (7-8-2, 4-7-2), including three in overtime.
UMD goalie Kenny Reiter faced only one shot in the extra period and finished with 21 saves.
UMD's Jack Connolly extended his point-scoring streak to 15 games with an assist.
The Bulldogs had a 36-24 shots-on-goal advantage.
