UWFB: Bielema addresses staff changes

Posted-December 27th, 2011 4:04 pm

As the Wisconsin football team prepares for the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2 against Oregon, head coach Bret Bielema issued a statement regarding the changes in the Badger football coaching staff after offensive coordinator Paul Chryst was named the head coach at Pitt last week.

“I am extremely happy for Paul and the opportunity he has at Pitt. I think it is a great fit for Paul as well as the Pitt football program,” Bielema said. “Bob Bostad will be joining Paul at Pitt. I wish them both the best and I am sure they will be successful as they are both tremendous people and coaches.

“Obviously there will be a transition on our staff, as Paul and Bob have been an important part of our success. Joe Rudolph will move from coaching tight ends to coaching the offensive line. All other staff changes and hirings will be announced after the Rose Bowl.

“One of the things I admire most about our staff and players is how they are able to focus on the task at hand. Right now our collective focus is on the Rose Bowl and on Oregon. I have no doubt we will continue to do a tremendous job in our preparation and look forward to the opportunity on Jan. 2.”
