White's 2 TDs Lead Badgers to 37-26 Win Over UTEP

Posted: Saturday, September 22, 2012 --- 3:20p.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- James White rushed for a pair of touchdowns Saturday, helping Wisconsin overcome the early loss of Montee Ball in a 37-26 victory over UTEP.

Ball suffered a head injury on a 1-yard scoring run at the start of the second quarter, and was on the sidelines in street clothes for the second half. It was a tough day all around for the Heisman Trophy finalist, who had the first fumble of his career on Wisconsin's opening drive.

Despite the victory, this was another shaky outing for the Badgers (3-1). The Miners (1-3) kept a third-quarter scoring drive alive with two fourth-down conversions, then got a 43-yard field goal from Steven Valadez on their next possession to cut Wisconsin's lead to 23-19 with 7:59 to play. But Melvin Gordon ripped off a 20-yard run to set up White's 2-yard scoring run, the Miners fumbled the kickoff and Gordon put the game away with a 26-yard rushing TD.

Bucky - I canot agree more. For the first time since before alverez... tickets are avail. go figure. His choice for hed coach (bielma uugh) is riding a down fall in ticket sales. No one want's to pay money to watch them lose. Can do that at home for free.

Wow, Wisconsin beat a glorified high school team at home. I smell a national championship!
