Friday Football Blitz Week #1 Recap

Sun Prairie found themselves in a real battle with West at Mansfield Stadium, but in the end, the defending Big Eight champs, led by quarterback Ryan Curran, were too much and held on to a 14-12 win.

D.J. Weberg guided Janesville Craig to a comeback win over East. The Purgolders led in the first quarter but the Cougars went on to a big 42-26 win at Lussier Stadium.

Defending Badger South champ Monona Grove had no troubles with Portage as the Silver Eagles, led by quarterback Tyler Blang, went on to a 49-13 win.

Middleton quarterback Luke Schafer found the endzone but up-and-coming Big Eight foe Memorial scored 31 points to beat the Cardinals 31-14 at Breitenbach Stadium.

Without quarterback Turner Moen, Lake Mills jumped out to a 7-0 lead over Marshall, but the Cardinals outscored the L-Cats 41-7 en route to a 41-14 win.

Defending SWC champs Lancaster led SWAL foe Fennimore 21-0 after the first quarter, and breezed to a 43-13 win. Tyler Glass scored the first two touchdowns for the Flying Arrows.

SWAL favorite Darlington saw an 8-7 lead slip through their fingers as Platteville beat the Redbirds 28-15 at Pioneer Stadium. William Cooley paced the Hillmen on the ground.

Deefield led Belleville 13-6 at halftime before outscoring the Wildcats 15-0 in the second half to win 28-6.
