Madison West and Madison Memorial entered Friday's game 2-0, but only the Regents left with perfection intact after a 28-27 win.
West took a 7-6 lead in the first, but Memorial would swing momentum their way. Joe Ferguson would find a double covered, Jester Weah on a fade route for a touchdown to put the Spartans up 12-7.
West would counter with a big pass play of their own. Alex Brown heaved a 37 yard pass to Terrell McFadden, as the junior wide receiver would take it in to put the Regents up 14-12.
After a fourth down stand, West would take possession of the football in Memorial territory. The Regents would capitalize on the short drive, highlighted by Finley Nahn's 8 yard touchdown run. West would take a 21-12 lead with time winding down in the second quarter.
West takes on Middleton next Friday, as Memorial hosts Verona.
