After a one-win a season a year ago, the Madison West Regents enjoyed a royal opening to 2012 by defeating Janesville Craig 35-20 Friday night.

Madison West quarterback Alex Brown started the game off with a few fireworks, finding Christian Graf for a long 40 yard touchdown pass. Later in the quarter, the Regents recovered a fumble at the goal line to set up a Tyler Collins touchdown.

The Regents travel to Madison LaFollette next Friday, while the Cougars take on defending Big Eight champion Verona.
