Randolph Rockets Past Rio, 27-6

The Randolph/Rio rivalry reached a new level Friday night. Both teams entered their match-up undefeated, but Randolph would be the team with an unblemished record after a 27-6 win.

Thomas Vander Galien lit the fuse for Randolph with a 47 yard gain around the right side down to the goal line. Rio held the Rockets to 4th down on the two yard line, but Jay Peters hit Kyle Roberts for a quick one yard touchdown pass to put Randolph up 7-0.

Rio also entered four down territory on their ensuing drive. Johnathon Landsverk found Josh Selje for a 12 yard gain on 4th and 6 to keep the drive alive. The Vikings would go for it on 4th on the next possession, but the AJ Alexander would make a key tackle for Randolph to turn the ball over on downs.

The Rockets would take advantage of the opportunity. Duke Vander Galien would cap off a 43 yard run by diving head first into the endzone to put Randolph up 14-0.
