Verona hopped back into the Big 8 title race with a 65-34 win over Madison LaFollette.

After Verona jumped out to a quick lead, the Lancers get back in the game on defense. Angel Nute scooped up a Verona fumble and rumbles about 40 yards for the touchdown to cut the Wildcats' lead to 21-13.

But Verona would storm back to close out the first half, highlighted by Sam Sharer's 69 yard scamper to the end zone.

Verona takes on Madison Memorial next week, while La Follette hosts Sun Prairie.
