Waunakee rallies at Mt. Horeb, caps perfect regular season

This time the Warriors saved their best for last and it was good enough to cap another perfect regular season.

2nd ranked Waunakee took the "us against the world" mentality into their Northern Badger Conference showdown at unbeaten Mt. Horeb-Barneveld and it worked in a 13-10 win.

As expected it was a defensive struggle the stood 6-3 Warriors into the 4th quarter and then the fireworks started. The Vikings retook the lead with a Cale PustinaTD pass to Shane Collins for a 10-6 advantage.

But Waunakee got moving on their next drive, converted a key 4th down pass to keep it alive and then grabbed the lead for good on a 12 yard Tyler Reynold TD run.

MHB got two more chances but both drives ended with Pustina tossing interceptions to seal the deal.

Waunakee (8-0) wins the conference title for a 10th straight year capping the programs 3rd straight undefeated regular season. The 3-time defending D-2 state champions have won 44 straight games now just 5 shy on setting a new state record.
