Tuesday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers have room for improvement, even if they have won their first four games. Coach Mike McCarthy says Vernand Morency had no excuse for a fumble in the Packers' 23-16 victory at Minnesota on Sunday. Of course, it was the first game action all year for Morency, who injured his knee in the first practice of training camp. The coach says Morency is better than he showed with that fumble.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers' season is over, and general manager Doug Melvin already has some decisions to start thinking about in the offseason. One is whether to keep closer Francisco Cordero, who will be a free agent. Cordero had 44 saves in 51 chances and says he wants to stay with the Brewers.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin football team's record is now a perfect 5-and-0 and the Badgers are ranked fifth in the nation. But they're early underdogs heading into Saturday's game with Illinois. The Illini are 4-and-1 overall after their upset of Penn State last weekend.
