Wednesday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Associated Press sports writer Chris Jenkins says grabbing a microphone and bellowing "I told you so" to his critics would be out of character for Ted Thompson, the Green Bay Packers' quiet man. Which is fine, because the 4-and-0 team he has assembled is doing it for him. In an A-P sports column, Jenkins notes that since taking over as Packers' general manager in 2005, Thompson has been treated harshly by fans who consider him a conservative cheapskate. But he's stuck to his plan and now it's paying off.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Guard Charlie Bell joined the rest of the Milwaukee Bucks at the opener of training camp, and he's ready to go to work for another season. That's after he tried to go to the Miami Heat as a free agent, only to have the Bucks match the Heat's offer for him and bring him back to Milwaukee. He says the thing he looks forward to now is October 31st, when the season starts.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) -- A prosecutor says he's reviewed the matter, and no one will be charged in an altercation between high school football coaches and a parent of one of their players after a demoralizing loss three weeks ago. Clark County District Attorney Darwin Zweig says criminal charges aren't warranted. He says in a statement that everyone involved needs to work on perspective and a mature response to adversity.
