Junior goaltender Jessie Vetter recorded her 17th career shutout and helped the Badgers extend their school-record unbeaten streak to 29 games Friday night as the No. 1 Wisconsin women’s hockey team defeated Robert Morris 3-0 in their 2007-08 home opener at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers (3-0-0 overall) are now just one game shy of the NCAA
record for the longest unbeaten streak in Division I women’s hockey
Vetter made 11 saves as the Badgers out-shot the Colonials (0-1-0) 50-11. Wisconsin has now held its opponents scoreless in ten of the last 12 games, out-scoring its opponents 50-2 in that stretch.
The Badgers will look to tie the longest unbeaten streak in Division I
women’s hockey history Saturday as they play host to Robert Morris in
the series finale. The game will be the final portion of Wisconsin’s
Hockey Night at the Rink as the puck it set to drop at 7 p.m.
