Tuesday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packer center Scott Wells will miss next week's game after he broke a bone around his eye when he was poked by a defensive lineman. Coach Mike McCarthy says Wells will miss next week's game with Washington. Jason Spitz will fill in at center while Wells is out. McCarthy also says wide receiver Greg Jennings, who left the game in the third quarter to get X-rays on his shoulder, is feeling better.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Brett Favre acknowledges the play was dead at the snap. He cocked and fired to the chagrin of the Packers, and with that, the bad version of Favre re-emerged. With Green Bay up ten points midway through the third quarter, Favre was picked off by Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, and Chicago soon scored to start a stretch of 17 consecutive points to beat the Packers 27-20 Sunday night.

VERONA, Wis. (AP) -- Kenosha Bradford junior Gianna Tenuta and Green Bay Notre Dame senior Maureen Liddy both shot 2-over-par 74s to share the Division 1 individual lead after the opening round of the state girls high school golf meet. Notre Dame and Onalaska share first place in the team competition at 324 heading into today's round at University Ridge in Verona.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers pitcher Chris Capuano will get a second opinion tomorrow and he may have surgery Thursday after the team physician determined he had a muscle tear in his non-throwing shoulder. The left-hander began the season with five wins before losing his final 12 decisions. The Brewers lost the final 22 games Capuano appeared in, including 18 starts and four relief appearances.
