Jocelyn Wack, a senior on the University of Wisconsin volleyball team, has been named the Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the week, the conference announced today. It was her first career conference award.
Wack needs just one dig to tie and two digs to break the UW career record for saves. The 5-11 libero has 1,919 digs in her four seasons while the Wisconsin record is 1,920 digs held by Susan Wohlford from 1988-91.
The eighth-ranked Badgers (16-1 overall, 8-0 Big Ten) wrap up the first half of the Big Ten season by hosting Ohio State (8-9, 2-6) and Penn State (16-2, 8-0). Wisconsin takes on the Buckeyes on Friday at 7 p.m. in the UW Field House in front a national television audience on ESPN2. The match will air on Sunday at Noon. The Badgers and Nittany Lions battle for first place in the Big Ten on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Field House. The match will air on the Big Ten Network at 4 p.m.
