Thursday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The Magic was too much for the Bucks. Orlando spoiled the season opener with a 3-pointer barrage that gave the Magic a 102-83 victory over Milwaukee in Florida last night. Rashard Lewis scored 26 points and Hedo Turkoglu had 24, and both helped Orlando make 12 of 22 shots from 3-point range. The Bucks made only 4 of 17. Michael Redd scored 25 points for Milwaukee and Bobby Simmons added 16.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Brett Favre says he knows his experience is giving his young teammates on the Green Bay Packers a lift, and it has the team on the brink of accomplishing something it hasn't done for 40 years. Green Bay has a five-game road winning streak for the first time in nine years. The last time Green Bay won six in a row on the road was between 1966 and 1967, when Vince Lombardi's Packers won the first two Super Bowls.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Ryan Grant will be the starter at running back for the Packers in Sunday's game at Kansas City. Grant rushed for 104 yards in Monday night's overtime win at Denver. He took over after DeShawn Wynn suffered a shoulder injury on his first carry. He's now out for the season.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Packers center Scott Wells missed the Denver game with what the team called a sinus infection, but coach Mike McCarthy now says Wells has pneumonia. McCarthy says Wells is recovering and getting a lot of rest, and there's still a chance he could play Sunday at Kansas City.
