Friday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The NFL's leading sack man since 2006 goes almost totally unnoticed when the Green Bay Packers are on the road. Aaron Kampman says he's happy in the shadows, especially while putting up big numbers on the field. He's had just over 23 sacks since 2006, including eight in seven games so far this season. He was named the NFC's defensive player of the month.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Ricky Franklin and Tim Flowers both scored 17 points and Torre Johnson 13 as Wisconsin-Milwaukee edged Division II opponent Wisconsin-Parkside 86-83 in an exhibition basketball game last night. The Panther victory was revenge for a 77-71 exhibition loss to the Rangers last year. That loss began a dismal season in which Milwaukee finished 9-22 in its first losing season since an 8-19 mark in 1998-99.

MILWAUKEE (AP)-- Senior guard Avery Smith, who led the Wisconsin-Milwaukee basketball team in scoring last season with more than 15 points per game, has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Coach Rob Jeter made the announcement half an hour before the Panthers played Wisconsin-Parkside last night in their first exhibition game this season.
