Wednesday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- National League Rookie of the Year Ryan Braun counts one of the biggest stars in the majors among his fans. The Milwaukee Brewers third baseman says he's gotten playing tips from the man who most recently played that position for the New York Yankees and now is a free agent -- Alex Rodriguez, as in A-Rod. Braun says those tips came when he switched from shortstop to third base while at the University of Miami.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Bucks forward Michael Ruffin will miss four to six weeks with a broken left wrist. Ruffin was injured in the second half of Sunday's 113-88 loss in San Antonio when he tried to block a shot. The 30-year-old was wearing a cast on his left hand at practice yesterday. The Bucks play Memphis tonight in Milwaukee.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Mike Schachtner scored 18 points and Wisconsin-Green Bay shot 57 percent from the field in beating Delaware State 70-50 last night in a regional consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off men's basketball tournament in Columbus, Ohio. The Phoenix lost 91-68 in the opening round of the regional to host Ohio State.
