Packers Playoff Tickets?

Posted Friday --- November 16, 2007 -- 12:56pm

Packers mailing invoices for playoff tickets

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers are thinking playoffs.

They've been given permission to print playoff tickets and are mailing invoices to season-ticket holders today.

This marks the first time since 2004 that the National Football League has given the Packers permission to make preliminary playoff arrangements.

The tickets will be printed in mid-December and mailed to the customers who ordered them.

Season-ticket holders have until 5 p.m. December 5th to pay for the tickets. Then remaining tickets will be sold to Gold package ticket holders through a random drawing.

Payments for playoff games that don't take place will be refunded or applied for season tickets next year.

Team spokesman Aaron Popkey says ticket prices are set by the NFL. Tickets for a wild-card or divisional playoff game are $108 and up to $327 for club seats. Championship tickets will be $148 each and up to $367 for club seats.

McCarthy in no mood to celebrate 8-1 start

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Coach Mike McCarthy served up a heaping helping of humble pie to his players.

McCarthy is in no mood to celebrate the Packers' 8-and-1 record. He let his players know their performance was far from perfect in last Sunday's rout of Minnesota.

Then he made it clear he wasn't entirely pleased with Wednesday's practice -- that there's some things they need to clean up.

Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett says that's how McCarthy is -- straight to business. Pickett says it's what keeps the players grounded and makes them better.

McCarthy has gone out of his way to make sure his players handle success the right way -- something he says is one of the biggest challenges in football.
