MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Trevon Hughes scored 21 points and Brian Butch and Joe Krabbenhoft had identical double-doubles as Wisconsin defeated Savannah State 79-32 last night in the America's Youth Classic men's basketball tournament in Madison. The Badgers scored the game's first 17 points, establishing control from the game's first minute.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- After playing his way into a starting role and contract extension with the Green Bay Packers, Cullen Jenkins knows he's well on his way to emerging from his big brother's sizable shadow. But that process would speed up considerably if the Packers beat Kris Jenkins' Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Cullen Jenkins wasn't a starter for the Packers the last time the two teams played, a 32-29 Carolina victory in 2005.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state high school football playoffs wind up today with three more championship games at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. New London faces Wisconsin Lutheran at 10 a.m. in the Division 3 final. It's DeForest going against Kimberly at 1 p.m. in Division 2. Hartland Arrowhead takes on Mequon Homestead at 4 p.m. in Division 1.
