Favre Talks about Future

Posted Tuesday --- November 20, 2007

Now that the Green Bay Packers are winning again, conventional wisdom says Brett Favre is a lock to once again put off retirement and return to play next season.

Favre hasn't said that himself, preferring to delay his now-annual retirement saga until after the season.

But in a conference call with Detroit reporters Tuesday, Favre hinted that the Packers' successful season makes him more likely to return next year.

He says last season gave him hope, so he obviously has to feel better now about returning.

But he also says nothing is assured.

Favre has always said that he would like to go out on top and that if he was to win the super bowl he would retire. I think that this year is his best chance at that and if the packers win the super bowl or even if they only win the NFC championship this year will be Favres last.

I think that Brett has proved he has a lot to continue to give this new generation of Packers! He still has the same look of joy on his face that he did 15 years ago when he played. He is a strong team leader and his arm is still as lethal as it was in the Super Bowl years. Wisconsin loves Brett and I know it will be a sad SAD day when he does step back from playing. I say keep the "gunslinger" doing what he loves for as long as he can!

Brett should indeed come back!!!!! He is the best at what he does. As long as he wants to come back, he should. We as packer fans have been given a gift to watch a truly talented person play the game. He truly still looks like a kid playing and he is enjoying it. We love you Brett!!!!!!So to you nay sayers hush and let the man play.

As long as he remains healthy and is having fun playing the game, why not come back. There is no magic age where his arm will fall off preventing him from throwing a pass... The key is this: Does HE want to continue playing the game. If he does he will come back, if he doesn't he will retire. At any rate, we as fans have had the privilege of watching a hall of fame QB play for 15 years. Thanks Brett!
