MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Mr. Baseball is joining the list of those
paying tribute to Mr. Late Night.
Tonight Show host Johnny Carson gave Milwaukee Brewers announcer
Bob Uecker the nickname ``Mr. Baseball.'' Carson died Sunday in California at age 79.
Uecker appeared on The Tonight Show dozens of times from 1970
until Carson retired in 1992, including on his second-last show.
Uecker says his relationship with Carson was a big part of his life
and helped him tremendously in show business.
Uecker says when he went on Carson's show, he never had a bad
time and Carson always wanted his guests to come off well. He says
the show business world has lost a great friend.
