KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Wisconsin finally knows its bowl opponent. The Badgers are playing Tennessee in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida on January 1st. The Volunteers lost in the Southeastern Conference championship game to LSU. Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema says the Badgers are excited to play on New Year's Day and will have their work cut out for them against the Vols.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Bucks will play in Los Angeles tomorrow against the Clippers to kick off a five-game West Coast trip. After playing the Clippers, Milwaukee will head north to play Seattle, Portland and then Sacramento to finish the trip. The Bucks have dropped four straight and gone from the Central Division's leader to 3 1/2 games behind Detroit.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers general manager Doug Melvin is in Nashville today for baseball's winter meetings. There are supposed to be several trades imminent around the league, but there are rumors that the Brewers may be in the market for Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen. Ryan Braun has indicated he'd consider moving to left field if the Brewers can find another third baseman.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jolene Anderson scored 26 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had six assists to lead Wisconsin to an 85-69 victory over IPFW yesterday. Janese Banks scored 19 points and freshman Tara Steinbauer -- starting for the first time -- added 16 points. Wisconsin is 3-3.
