Baseball's Steroid Bombshell

Star players named in Mitchell report

NEW YORK (AP) -- Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and Miguel Tejada are among those named in the long-awaited Mitchell Report on drug use in baseball.

There's an All-Star roster linked to steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs that put a question mark next to some of baseball's biggest moments.

Home run king Barry Bonds, already under indictment on charges of lying to a federal grand jury about steroids, also shows up in baseball's most infamous lineup since the Black Sox scandal.

The report culminates a 20-month investigation by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell. He was hired by commissioner Bud Selig to examine the Steroids Era.

It's uncertain whether the report will result in any penalties or suspensions.

Selig plans to hold a news conference later Thursday afternoon to address the report.

I totally agree with Robert as far as getting their awards and nominations taken away into the hall of fame! I know it was challenged if Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa was doing drugs at the time of their season record of home runs! Put Sammmy Sosa in the hall of fame, he deserves the recognition and he didn't have to take any stinking drugs to get his home run record for that season!

They should be stripped of any records ,and not go to the Hall of fame. They are certianly not a good role model for youny people growing up. Nail them to the wall.

I thing they should get the same treatment Pete Rose got. A slap on the hand won't stop it.

IF THE DRUGS WERE ILLEGAL TO USE WHY SHOULD THEY BE TREATED ANY DIFFERENT THEN THE PERSON ON THE STREET CAUGHT WITH THE DRUGS. THESE ARE PEOPLE THAT WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO LOOK UP TOO. THEN WE FIND OUT THEY USED ILLEGAL DRUGS TO GAIN FAME IN THEIR SPORT. BARRY BONDS SHOULD HAVE THE HOME RUN TITLE TAKEN AWAY AND IF HE IS PROVEN TO HAVE USED ILLEGAL DRUGS HE AND ALL THE OTHER PLAYERS SHOULD HAVE ANY RECORD OR FAME THEY OBTAINED TAKEN AWAY. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THEN THE TRACK STAR THAT WAS STRIPPED OF HER MEDALS. THE LAW IS THE LAW, IT DOESN'T SAY IF YOU ARE FAMOUS AND RICH YOU DON'T HAVE TO ABIDE BY IT.
