Tuesday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Forget about resting the veterans. Green Bay Packer coach Mike McCarthy says things have changed since last week, when he told reporters he might consider the idea of giving his veteran players some rest in the final two games of the regular season.

With the Dallas Cowboys getting a surprise loss on Sunday, the Cowboys and Packers now have identical 12-2 records and are battling for homefield advantage in the postseason.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Dominic James had 17 points and six assists and Wesley Matthews added 15 points as 10th-ranked Marquette used its speedy, athletic guards to overwhelm Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 80-56 in men's college basketball last night. Marquette, in the midst of five straight home games leading into Big East play, played its second game in three nights after playing just two games the previous two weeks due to final exams.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Amy Jaeschke scored 21 points to lead Northwestern to a 65-63 victory over Marquette in women's college basketball last night. Jaeschke, back after suffering a broken hand in the season opener, blocked a shot by Krystal Ellis in the closing seconds with the Wildcats leading 64-63. A final free throw sealed the win.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- It was another character-builder for the Milwaukee Bucks last night in Cleveland. They battled the Cavaliers through two overtimes, only to lose 104-99. Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored Cleveland's first six points in the second overtime to help seal the deal.
