Packers knit caps as scarce as SI's Favre issue
(AP) -- Brett Favre probably didn't do much to score one.
But Green Bay Packers fans are scrambling to find the gold-and-white knit caps he and other players have been wearing on the sidelines in recent weeks.
In fact, the team keeps selling out of its stock. That has some fans scouring eBay where the $17.95 hat can sell as much as $150.
The team's retail director Kate Hogan says the Packers haven't seen an item become so popular, so quickly, in years.
The popularity of the Reebok-made caps is heightened by the team's winning ways. The Packers are now 12-2 and have made the playoffs for the first time since the 2004 season. It doesn't hurt that Favre, a three-time NFL MVP, wears the cap too.
