Thursday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Ryan Pickett only saw limited action in practice yesterday because of a groin injury. He says he doesn't expect to find out if he'll be playing in Sunday's game at Chicago until the last minute. Coach Mike McCarthy says he's not going to rush things, so Pickett might be sitting out the Bears game. The same is true for reserve quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's recovering from a hamstring injury.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Ron Artest scored 26 points and had eight assists and Beno Udrih hit a career-high six 3-pointers to help the Sacramento Kings beat the Milwaukee Bucks 102-89 last night at the Bradley Center. Udrih finished with 24 points for the Kings. Michael Redd, who had 27 points for the Bucks, scored 10 straight midway through the fourth quarter only to have Sacramento answer each time.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers didn't let off-court problems get to them last night. Paige Paulsen scored 22 points to lead them to a 74-71 men's college basketball victory over Central Michigan that snapped a six-game losing streak. The Panthers (4-7) had only 10 scholarship players because leading scorer Torre Johnson was dismissed from the team this week after being charged with substantial battery for striking a woman. Also, reserve guard Roman Gentry left the team for personal reasons.
