Woodson may miss season finale

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Coach Mike McCarthy won't say how long he plans to play some of his top players Sunday, but the Green Bay Packers could be without at least one notable veteran in their mostly insignificant regular-season finale.

Cornerback Charles Woodson didn't practice today and is considered doubtful for the game against Detroit.

McCarthy says Woodson underwent treatment yesterday for a lingering toe injury.

With Woodson out, McCarthy says the team would go with a rotation of Jarrett Bush, Will Blackmon, Tramon Williams and Frank Walker to fill the void at the one starting position and at nickel back.

The Packers are already locked in as the Number 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and having a first-round bye, so McCarthy says some starters aren't expected to play the full game Sunday.

Instead, he says some of the younger players or those who haven't played much will get time on the field to improve the team's depth as it prepares for the playoffs.
