Badgers punch in 5 verse against Bowling Green

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- In men's college hockey, junior Tom Gorowsky scored his first two goals of the season this afternoon to help 13th-ranked Wisconsin to a 5-3 victory over number 19 Bowling Green.

The win earned the Badgers third place at the Badger Hockey Showdown.

Gorowsky scored to put the Badgers ahead 2-0 in the first period. Then he broke a 2-2 tie in the second for Wisconsin (8-7-3), which improved to 7-2-1 this season at the Kohl Center.

Bowling Green's (8-8) David Solway scored in the first to pull within 2-1, and Brandon Svendsen tied it in the second period.

Andy Bohmbach and Podge Turnbull each had two assists for Wisconsin and Shane Connelly made 23 saves.

Matthew Ford scored a third-period goal for the Badgers. Dan Sexton scored a short-handed goal for the Falcons.
