Former Milwaukee Bucks head coach George Karl has become the new head coach of the Denver Nuggets.
Denver general manager Kiki Vandeweghe made the announcement at a news conference in Milwaukee.
He says the Nuggets are ``excited to be adding a coach of
George's stature'' to the team, adding that Karl's ``track record
speaks for itself.''
Karl replaces Michael Cooper, who was promoted on an interim
basis after Denver fired former head coach Jeff Bzdelik
last month. The Nuggets have gone four-and-ten since Cooper took over.
Karl's first game as the head coach of the Nuggets will be
against his former team. Denver plays at Milwaukee tomorrow night.
Karl has been out of the N-B-A since the Bucks fired him in 2003
after five seasons. He has won 708 games in 16 seasons with the
