Northwestern has hired two new coordinators, naming Mick McCall to run the offense and Mike Hankwitz the defense under head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
McCall replaces Garrick McGee, who resigned earlier this month. Hankwitz follows Greg Colby, who was fired.
McCall spent the past year as Bowling Green's offensive coordinator, directing a spread offense that averaged over 400 yards per game.
Hankwitz, who was fired recently at Wisconsin, began his career in 1970 as a grad assistant at Michigan. Since 1982, he has served as a defensive coordinator at six schools including Western Michigan.
