Lady Badgers finally back on track

MADISON, Wis. -

Wisconsin won, and in a big way, against Big Ten rival Penn State Thursday night at the Kohl Center. In front of a season-high crowd, the Badgers defeated the Lady Lions by 27 points, 79-52, following a stellar defensive and offensive showing in the Wisconsin women’s basketball program’s 100th win at the Kohl Center.

The Badgers had four players finish in double figures, three of them recording 16 points in the game. Senior Janese Banks and Jolene Anderson each tallied 16, as well as freshman Lin Zastrow, who set a new season high with the 16. Rae Lin D’Alie contributed 13 points of her own on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the arc. UW improves to an even 9-9 overall, garnering its second Big Ten victory of the season (2-6). PSU falls to 13-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
