Passed over for the chance to become the franchise's top executive, Green Bay Packers vice president of finance Andrew Brandt is leaving the team.
Brandt has been the Packers' chief contract negotiator and salary cap manager since 1999.
He says he's leaving to pursue other opportunities.
In a statement the team released, Brandt says it's time to move on to new challenges.
The 47-year-old Brandt joined the Packers in 1999 after working as a player agent.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson says the team has people in place to negotiate contracts and manage the salary cap until the team can hire a replacement.
