MADISON, Wis. -- The No. 5 Wisconsin women’s hockey team extended its winning streak to 10 games Sunday as the Badgers defeated North Dakota 5–2 Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 1,776 on Senior Day at the Kohl Center.
For the second day in a row, the Badgers offensive attack was
highlighted by a hat trick. Following freshman Hilary Knight’s
(Hanover, N.H.) performance Saturday afternoon, sophomore Meghan Duggan
(Danvers, Mass.) recorded her first-career hat trick for the Badgers
(20-6-2, 16-4-2 WCHA), who have still never lost to North Dakota
(4-22-4, 4-18-2) as they boast a 20-0-0 record all-time versus UND.
With the win, junior goaltender Jessie Vetter (Cottage Grove, Wis.)
recorded her 50th career victory.
The Badgers are back in action next weekend as they head to Duluth,
Minn., to square off against the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth Feb. 8-9.
Game time for both contests is set for 7 p.m.
