Mike McCarthy will stick around Green Bay for a while. The Packers announced Tuesday that McCarthy has signed a new five-year deal through the 2012 season.
McCarthy says he's excited to stay in Green Bay and try to win a title. He had a year left on his original three-year deal, and the new contract is worth a reported $4 million a year.
General Manager Ted Thompson says McCarthy brings tremendous passion, work ethic and structure to his position.
The Packers went 13-3 and won a playoff game before losing the NFC championship game in overtime to the eventual Super Bowl champs, the New York Giants.
