The University of Wisconsin men’s hockey team defeated Michigan Tech, 4-1, to win the John MacInnes Cup at Winter Carnival in Houghton, Mich. on Saturday. The Badgers improved to 13-11-6 overall, 9-9-4 in the WCHA, as UW goaltender Shane Connelly (Cheltenham, Pa.) was named the Winter Carnival’s MVP. The Huskies fell to 10-13-5 overall and 6-10-4 in the conference.
The Badgers will return to the Kohl Center next weekend, Feb. 15-16, for their final homestand of the regular season. Wisconsin will face the Mavericks of Minnesota State at 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 p.m. on Saturday.
