Russ Ball is the Green Bay Packers' new vice president of football administration/player finance.
It's a post in which he will be responsible for negotiating player contracts, salary cap management and other football administration duties.
He replaces Andrew Brandt, who resigned last month.
Ball spent the last six seasons with the New Orleans Saints as vice president of football administration, a job in which his responsibilities also included monitoring the salary cap.
The 48-year-old Ball also spent 10 years with the Kansas City Chief, starting as assistant strength and conditioning coach and ending as administrative assistant to Marty Schottenheimer. He also held front office jobs with the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins.
