Sampson done in Indy

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Indiana University has agreed to a $750,000 buyout with basketball coach Kelvin Sampson, according to school spokesman Larry MacIntyre.

Sampson has come under fire since an NCAA report last week cited him for making improper phone calls to high school players, then providing false and misleading information to investigators from both the university and the NCAA.

Assistant coach Dan Dakich (DA'-kihch) will take over running the team on an interim basis, but its not known how many players he'll have available when the 15th-ranked Hoosiers take on Northwestern tomorrow.

Senior captain D.J. White, Armon Bassett, Jordan Crawford, Jamarcus Ellis, DeAndre Thomas and Brandon McGee skipped Dakich's first practice this afternoon.
