Edgewood Hockey opens state with a win

The stat sheet showed a different game then the one on the final scoreboard but the latter is the one that matters most to Edgewood after their quarterfinal win against Mosinee at the WIAA State Hockey Tournament.

Edgewood was out shot 43-23, but a 3 goal outburst in the second period and 39 saves by Brad Jerzewski led the way to a 5-4 victory that send the Crusaders into a semifinal match up with Appleton East on Friday night.

Cody Strang tallied a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the offensive attack. Strang has made a quick return to the ice since breaking his ankle back in early January.
